The ABCs of Gut Health: Proven Tips for a Thriving Digestive System

Finally, there is a growing consensus on the true importance of digestive health. It is now clear that issues such as headaches, backaches, mood disorders, anxiety, skin problems, hormonal imbalances, and many other ailments often stem from poor digestive health.

In Ayurveda, all healing begins with the gut, and treatment only commences after a thorough cleanse.

This approach is justified, as without eliminating toxins accumulated over years, any therapy or treatment would be ineffective.

Allopathy typically addresses symptoms: painkillers for stomachaches, antacids for acid reflux, and laxatives for constipation.

However, the question remains – has this approach truly been beneficial?

The current necessity lies in addressing not only the symptoms but also the root cause of the issue.

  1. Eat only when hungry. Develop an awareness about food & do not eat just out of boredom or stress. Today we can solve many of our problems, by just eating less and only when hungry. Don’t get me wrong as I am not suggesting starving at all. I am proposing being mindful of your body’s needs.

  2. Having some freshly crushed ginger with a little salt and lemon juice 10 minutes before meals will activate the digestive enzymes ensuring better digestion

This sugar is your worst enemy as it not only corrodes your intestinal lining, robs the gut of the digestive juices, it contributes majorly to obesity & bowel cancer.

  4. Drink lemon juice with date paste or jaggery.

  5. Clean your palette by eating fresh fruit, seasonal and organic, as far as possible.

  6. Papaya & Pineapple are the best ruits for a good running digestive system

  7. Some roasted fennel seeds with jaggery will work wonders.

  8. Manage your stress and practice deep breathing regularly.

  9. Fast once a week

  10. Moving away from diets and food fads, focus on understanding your own body. Listen to its signals so you can nourish and live in a way that benefits you. Being aware of your body empowers you to take control of your health and make decisions that align with its needs. If you’re facing health issues, recognize that your body is sending you messages.

  11. Speak to a health coach who can design a program as per your lifestyle and handhold you on this wonderful journey of taking charge of your health

So, to conclude, prioritize your gut health above everything else in life and you will be surprised at how your life will start getting transformed. Your body deserves the best and it all begins with a healthy holistic mindful approach towards life.
